I LOVE vintage suitcases. I dont have the space for them and the one I purchased off ebay arrived in a less than desirable state. Still, I spray painted it and ripped out the interior and i use it to hold my parcelling supplies. Its brilliant for that. I definitely need to get around to the lining situation though.
Here is some inspiration for you guys if youve purchased any thrifty vintage suitcases recently.
sewing supplies?! Perfect storage space for trims and things! I really am in love with that aqua blue pom pom trim and the vintage hankerchief in the corner.

Filing organiser and noticeboard:
Tutorials and information on Design*Sponge. I think the noticeboard looks slightly ridiculous and a bit too bulky but i like the filing option!

For something less usual, less humdrum Etsy seller VanityCase can turn a vintage suitcase into avanity cabinet. I bet you can even select your own suitcase, As for what i said previously - stick a mirror in it and some lights and il agree to it being on the wall! much like a medicine cabinet.

I do love this one.. Perfect for storing packaging supplies etc. I store mine in a suitcase but thus far havent got around to lining it properly! via Craftzine

I love Design Sprout's version for her teeny tiny pooch.

Again, adding shelving is a marvelous idea!

This is included because its just pretty!

Guest room ideas?! A bedside table or guest towel storage. I love it!

Lots of love Claire xo

Perfect post! I collect suitcases, why I don't know they just catch my eye and beg to be brought home;} I've used them mostly for toting crafts around but the ideas here have got me thinking.... Thanks!

claire i just saw the stacked vintage white suitcase idea on decomyplace this morning. luv it! i have 2 of my grandma's old suitcases that are brown & sitting in my garage gathering dust. i'm seriously considering painting & using them, hmmm?
I love all these ideas!
I know me too! Im having trouble deciding what to do with mine and lining it etc!
This is great! I could get one suitcase to store my art supplies. If I attach wheels on the bottom I can store it under my bed :) Thanks for the idea!
I love vintage suitcases too and have quite a collection of them now...they are so great for storing everything.
Love the ideas you have shown :)
I can't wait to see what you guys come up with. I love the wheels idea!
I love vintage suitcases as beautiful storage cases. I have stacked them on top of each other next to a couch, as an end table/storage for photos, etc. I am also new to your blog and newest follow! Love! Come visit me sometime! xo Samantha

That's a brilliant idea! I'm very tempted to do that but I'm running out of space!
This has inspired me to dig out my old suitcase/storage! I once spent almost a weeks salary (my measly first salary I must admit) on 2 leather trunks to store my sheets/linen in when I lived in my first flat - a beautiful Shoreditch loft with no built in storage, mice and a wanner-be DJ downstairs. Oh to be 21 again!
Thanks for your lovely comment on my blog by the way!
They are beautiful cabinets so dreamy, i love the colour too Alison its very soft i will be looking out for it...
