Scrap Sewing | Customizing My Clippy London Bag

Do you guys remember at the end of last month I was featuring the lovely Clippy London for back to school loveliness? Well... I have a bag ^_^ I had lots of fun customizing it but it took me a while to know what I wanted to do with it! It wasn't until I received some Liberty of London fabric in the post that I realised it was going to be all about fabric. I present to you.. My Clippy Bag...

I love liberty fabrics!!l Leftovers from a patchwork quilt I made for my mum.
It's quite hard to see the detail from these two photos as the cover was PVC and therefore quite the shiny! So I took pictures of the most interesting little panels. I took my advice from one of Dottie Angels previous garland tutorials where she said no precise cutting involved and rose tinted glasses were a must.

I just used a rubber stamp on some cheap natural cotton and then machine stitched them on.

And for these two panels I destroyed some doilies ^_^ All original polaroid picture size. I sewed them all and then used double sided tape to secure them to a little card (i just used old cereal boxes or tablet boxes, whatever I could find) it was important to secure the edges especially so the fabric didnt curl up when inserting it into the wee pockets. The bag is double sided but nobody will see the other side! I think it needs a liner ^_^

Lots of love Claire xo

This is so cute! I think I was given a makeup bag of this a few years ago, but with only stickers to switch, the preteen me quickly got bored and chucked it out. This customization {sp?} looks much more fun!

thank you! oh yea... it took AGES for me to get inspired of what to do. I had thought I would do like a scrapbooking page.. a giant one and then cut it up.. then I realised I should probably treat it like a panel quilt... it wasnt easy!
