Colour Lovers Moodboard | Crate Color Lovers Greens and Cream Crate Paper Scrapbook August Color Challenge

This months colour/color challenge by crate was Vintage Linen, Pear green and seagrass blue.. and I could add whites and blacks all I wanted. So of course I went and got all my 6x6 crate paper pads (I love those) and ripped out my favourite colours and patterns and pinned them on the board to figure out what I was doing. I also raided my haberdashery and craft supplies for matching colours; I like doing this to figure out what textures I want to add ^_^

This is my wee 6x6 layout. I signed up to Elisas online class Agenda d'ete for the summer and this is going to my cover! Class started a while ago (its all in french) and I couldnt get the motivation together to start really. I thought I wanted a 5x7 card and whatever I pieced together I just didnt like.. but I knew I didnt want a big size as storage is a real pain.. and I like continuity... as Im a bit of a weirdo. So as soon as i saw this challenge and realised I could do my layouts on a 6x6 page instead of using the 6x6 pages on larger card.. it all fitted in nicely!

The pearly colours on my board as colour inspiration are from Brilliance by Tsuineko  in Peacock (trio) and Jade. I think you can get them Here

A wee close up detail of the butterfly! A free download that I printed onto paper and cut out (From Swirlydoos Forum linked).

Some lovely close up details!

If I am honest I would have preferred to use black thread but I didnt have any! I couldnt believe it! But I am happy with the white bunched up detail and loose threads. It's nice to add another dimension with different textures with the thread, paper, gesso and sequins.

I crumpled up my paper before I glued it down which (accidentally) helped the butterfly keep its bent 3d shape!

This is my first time at taking part in the crate color challenges and I honestly think I will be doing them every month. Crate are my favourite brand although the full collections are quite hard to buy here in the UK and would cost an absolute blinkin fortune to ship from the US so when I find a store with an extensive range I tend to buy but there arent that many. Process of ellimination via google search really depending on the collection you want. View the color challenges at Crate HERE and the collections are on the side bar of the same page.

Lots of love Claire xo
