The Craft Cafe – DIY Collage Book Marks
Hello everyone! How is your Summer relaxation going? Are you in the mood to get a little bit creative? It’s Aga from Passion shake here, and I’m back with another little project for Craft Café – how to make summer patterns inspired tags for bookmarking pages in your favorite books.
The idea came to me when I’ve been reading a book In the garden and (as usual!) to bookmark it, I used the… book’s receipt which happened to be inside. Does it ever happen to you? I know it’s not very pretty and it definitely doesn’t suit the sunny-garden-sun bed-pink-cocktail-and-a-book-image, right? So I thought, it’s high time to do something about it! It’s a quick project so you will need only few minutes to make your own tags with personalized colorful patterns. Ready?
You will need:
– Thick white paper
– Whole puncher
– Double sided tape / glue
– Colorful paper
– Magazine cut outs
First of all search your favorite magazines for some pretty summer patterns and gather those that you would like to use. Then cut out tags shape from thick white paper and make wholes, using hole puncher.
If you want to add summer colors to your tags, create color base by gluing / sticking with a double-sided tape colorful paper first. Once the base is done, play with your patterns and attach them in some funky, summer inspired compositions. Add matching ribbon and they are ready to use!
Simple solutions are always the best! Now our books can enjoy the lovely handmade tag company during the long summer afternoons. I hope I inspired you a little bit today with this little project.
What do you use to bookmark your books?
Have a great day!
