In my opinion, the best place to stock up on supplies for all craft projects is on Etsy. No matter where you are in the world, you can buy some fabulous supplies from small business owners. Whether they’re a well-known brand or beautiful handmade layered embellishments. I love it. It also means you’re not buying from some huge corporation and every time you place an order with a small business, and the owner does a little happy dance. A thought like that must make it worth it!
Your Essential (and not so essential) Supply Checklist For Christmas Craft Projects
1. The Glue Gun & Refill Glue Sticks
The glue gun is one of my most used craft supplies, and I go through refills like nobody’s business! I actually have three glue guns believe it or not. The first glue gun was a regular glue gun, the second glue gun was pink (the one I use the most), and the third was a precision glue gun for melting down white glue sticks and creating snowflakes. You can see that project here.
Scissors seem like a pretty obvious addition right? There are a few things you need to know about scissors; it’s really common to get a lot of glue and adhesives on scissors, so it’s advisable to have more than one pair. If you are using scissors for fabric, you should have one single pair of sharp scissors dedicated to the material.

Depending on your project, you may need decoupage glue. You may not even realise you need decoupage glue! If you’ve downloaded the Free Christmas Craft Magazine; Merry Makings, you will need decoupage glue. A lot of the projects require decoupage glue, and it’s one of my favourite supplies to use. Including these gorgeous Gift Tags by Ayda Algin.
I always find that regular glue sticks come in very useful at Christmas time! Every December, I love to partake in December Daily; which is a daily scrapbook album where you use a lot of photo paper and a lot of scrapbook paper.
You can view my 2015 album here. Here’s a peek at the cover:
I love bakers twine! It is so useful for SO many things! Use it for gift wrapping, in your December Daily album or any of your Christmas Crafts!
Pens are something you will use a lot. For cards, gift tags, journaling and fauxligraphy! Uniball pens are my absolute favourite, and the white is the best I’ve ever used. And I’ve used a lot of white pens! I even prefer the uni-ball signo over white gelly pens. That’s how good they are.

Seriously, tacky glue is a complete lifesaver if you run out of glue sticks or pritt stick isn’t strong enough. Usually, it works for adhering fabric to paper (December daily) or for attaching bells directly to an album or something. Fo’ reals. You need this in your life.
9. 3d Foam Dots/ Double sided foam
I know, it’s on everyone’s wish list! Washi tape is an obsession of mine. I use it all year around in my planner and in most crafts I make. I’ve wrapped candles, made coasters, edged furniture legs and even on my old laptop keys. You can do so much with washi tape, and I NEED this rose gold washi tape in my life!
