How To Make A Mini Cupcake Stand At The Craft Cafe
Welcome to this weeks edition of the Craft Cafe! I decided to create some little candlesticks for christmas decor this year, to be used for fake cupcakes and some other decorations. I chose trims that wouldn’t be too christmassy, this means I can use the cupcake stands all year.
Supplies you will need:
Paint (Not pictured)
Brush (not pictured)
Assorted trims (not pictured)
Grab a pencil and a ruler and draw a cross on the understide of your disk. The cross will help you to centre the candlestick when you’re glueing!
I drew around the candlestick to give me a rough guide when I was going to be adhering them together. The glue was wet enough to move the disk around until it was centred.
This is what my terrible ‘center-ing’ looked like! Just to give you a rough guide too ^_^
If you flip your cupcake stand up, you will know immediately if your disk is off centre as it will lilt on its own. I was able to wiggle the disk until it was completely centred. I flipped it back around and pressed down to ensure the glue adhered properly.
I grabbed some chalk paint for my first stand, the second stand (pictured in the first image above), was painted using pearl pink paint by docrafts.
After your paint dries, you will need to sand any rough brush strokes and then wax or varnish.
Now is the time to choose your favourite trims and glue them around the edge of the disk.
I hope you enjoyed this edition of the Craft Cafe! A pretty simple little project ^_^
