How awesome is it when you get access to a free craft course?! Now is the time of year when you actually HAVE the time to do fun things with the kids, so this craft course is perfect for you to try out. Not all of the tutorials are kid friendly but there are puh-lenty to choose from!
Handmade Happy Summer | The Free Craft Course
This free craft course is full of fabulous summer crafts to keep you going all summer long! I’m so proud of all of the contributors to our magazine. There have been a mixture of career successes, which makes me get the warm and fuzzies, so I would be thrilled if you would check out the course and take a peek at all of the incredible content.
Right now, I want to take a minute to share something that I discovered when repurposing the magazine into an easy to follow course format.
Preview The Projects via the Magazine Version On Issuu:
I’m thrilled to have finally been able to finish the free course because I know a lot of folks have been anticipating the release! It’s so awesome because you can flick through the lessons easily, complete lessons when you have finished a tutorial and you get your own login details. Obviously, you can still read the PDF version on Issuu, so don’t worry about signing up for things if you don’t want to.
A little background on the Craft Course:
Handmade Happy was a free craft magazine that I created back in 2014. Luckily, I had A LOT of help from some amazing contributors. When I was going to check that I had the most up to date links and contact details, I discovered that one of our contributors passed away in 2016.
Unfortunately, life became too much to handle for the incredibly talented Marinke. Marinke is the creator of the ever-popular Tutti Frutti crochet patterns. My heart broke when I discovered this news, as suicide is very close to my heart. I make no secret that I’ve had my struggles with mental health in the past, and that crafting has been incredibly healing for me.
It’s a huge part of my self-care routine. So, when you get access to the free craft course, head to the contributor’s section and read the little blurb that Marinke wrote back in 2014.
The Contributors to the Handmade Happy Summer 2014 Magazine:
- Magda Mizera
- Kate from The Home Makery
- Ayda Algin (Contributor to the Blog)
- Marinke from ACreativeBeing
- Bleu et Rose
- Silvia – Ghirlanda Di Popcorn (Contributor to the Blog)
- Janna Werner
If you loved a tutorial, it would be an excellent idea to visit the appropriate contributor and let them now! I know I would be thrilled to receive a comment or email like that.
Is this going to cost me anything?
Nope, not a thing. It is hosted on the Teachable platform so you will need to create an account with a password.
Will you be able to see my progress?
Yes! I can see your progress regarding how many lessons you have completed and whether or not you’re almost done.
Is there a Facebook group for us to join the community?
Absolutely! You can join us in the Craft Cafe Facebook group and post anything that you make. That includes anything that isn’t part of the Handmade Happy course. So feel free to share your makes at any time because we want to get crafty together.
I would be so very grateful if you would take the time to share this page and let people know about the free craft course! Thank you, I’ve always said you were a gem.
