Painted Kitchen Cabinets Ideas and Inspiration
Ever since I posted this retro kitchen from the fabulous Passion for Baking blogger Manuela, I’ve wanted to paint my kitchen cabinets. Currently my cabinets are laminate wood, in a north facing part of the house in a row of terraced houses. All that means; my kitchen is really dark. I would like to think that painted my cabinets white would reflect the light a lot more. I posted that image and related post last october so that’s 9 months of thinking!
I saw this image and for a brief period, wanted to paint my cabinets all pastel colours! That would be silly though because it’s so dark. Still, 9 months of thinking, hmming and hahing. Honestly, I still am and the biggest element and reason why I haven’t painted anything: laziness. I’m so lazy!
My hmming and hahing stopped briefly, until I saw Kate’s kitchen makeover! Now I think that it’s a little more possible! I love how she created the scallop trim on her cupboards. I think…. with a little help, I might be able to do this!
I’m using all of these images of fitted kitchens as inspiration. The duck egg blue cupboard doors just caught my attention so I will file that away for future reference! I’ve already decided that I don’t want long door handles, I want door knobs, like the pink knobs in the gorgeous Polish apartment kitchen I featured last month.
I have a question for you guys…. I explained above how I wanted the cabinet doors painted white to reflect the light BUT… my toaster, my microwave, my compost bin, spice rack, bread bin (all the kitchen bits) are cream… huge clash?
