Why I’m Not Ready To Let Go Of Summer! Not Yet
I am STILL not ready to say goodbye just yet. Look at all of those pretty colours! I didnt realise until I started sorting through photos for a summer mini album, that I had taken SO many! Looking back at those pictures made me smile. I think there may be too many cat photos in my collection (not always my own cats) but of course, I got some great ones.
So at first, I discovered these chocolate caramelised hazelnuts (vegan friendly) from Co Couture and they were delicious. Those gorgeous roses were given to me by a family member and were a glorious summer colour! What a great way to start the summer, right?!
This was part of a lettering exercise I was doing as part of CDMuckoskey’s Love Lettering online course. I absolutely loved the course and I loved my little watercolour night sky but that was my first attempt. Should have mastered the lettering first. I have learnt from my mistake!
I also finally found a watercolour pan palette with a white base! You’ve no idea how long and hard I’ve looked for one. Probably ever since I first took an Alissa Burke class back in 2010, she had this gorgeous colourful palette she got from Michael’s in the United states. I could never find one similar over here, but finally Daler Rowney released a version! My night sky was not created with those pans, it was created using watercolour tubes and gouache tubes.
This was the day I decided my embellishments tin was too full! It needed organised and I found some cheap recycling bin solutions! I just made lots of little dividers.
This is my favourite rug! It’s just a little floor mat. It didn’t exceed much of this photo. I have it directly underneath my chair in the craft room.
This was a little visitor to the house! She just ran straight into the house when the door was open and found the cat food. I was chasing her to get a photo and I got this doosie. It makes me laugh every time I see it. She was a little character.
I got in the habit of taking flowers for an online class I’m taking at the moment. I love flowers!
You guys remember my Kintsugi post? This was the original plate I was going to use for my kintsugi repair post but it had been smashed in too many places for me to do it accurately. I don’t think I can be trusted enough with such strong adhesives!
This is got a post that’s coming up ^_^
I love this Neon paint! I’ve been obsessed with neon pink paint, ever since I saw RaeMissimigan’s fabulous blog! I love this lady.
This was a little random journal page. I ended up doodling all over these pretty painted triangles.
I had so many pretty peonies this summer! That was thanks to my aunty buying me a bunch anytime she saw them because she knows they’re my favourite ^_^ I felt so loved.
I enjoyed playing with some crayola supertips and practicing my lettering.
These were taken for my newest online class that I’m taking. It’s all about Flowers!
That one say of sunshine! Being a pale skinned damsel I have to be fully covered in sunshine. Hence all the layers!
And my sweet peas! I couldn’t believe how well they turned out.
This is the online class I’m taking. Alissa Burke’s Flower Power online class.
I discovered the Goldbergs and I love that show so much!
This is the creativity monster, inhabiting the body of a kitty!
This is the heartbreaker of the hearthandmadeuk family! My handsome guy ^_^
I got some watermelon! I love watermelon but I don’t get it as often as I should!
I made some watermelon coconut ice cream, I got the recipe from Nutritionistinthekitch. The taste was great but I think my freezer might be too cold; the texture became quite crystallised, like regular (dairy) ice cream had become warm and then frozen again. It became a bit more like a solid sorbet with less sugar. Tasted great though.
With these bright colours, the flowers, the cats and the bright sunshine, I hope it’s easy to see why I’m not ready to let go of Summer and embrace Autumn! I can definitely feel autumn coming but it’s not reflected in my pretty pastel wardrobe!
