I love to use washi tape in my planner. It’s pretty great for colour coding or to simple to use as decoration inside your planner.
Before I commit anything in my planner using a pen, I pencil it in. If you are concerned about scribbling things out or making mistakes in general, or just want insanely neat handwriting inside of your planner then use a pencil to add it to your planner. A mechanical pencil is much better as zero sharpenings required.
My favourite of all the rulers, is a 6” flat ruler because you can store it in your planner! If you are working a lot in US letter size or A4 pads and exercise books, obviously you will need a larger ruler. It doesn’t hurt to store a short one for quick lines!
