Incredible Shabby Chic Decor Ideas For Your Home
We all seem to be waiting for something to come to us before we can get our backsides in gear and start planting those seedlings or painting that cabinet (that has been in progress for the best part of a year). Well, it’s here! The sun! The sun is out and I’m getting the seeds sown… there’s one more coat of paint needed and the door put back on. Woo! What are the chances the sun will stay out? In N.Ireland, my chances are slim. For now I will take a break and look at the glorious shabby chic home of Anni, blog owner of “Ruususuu and Huvikumpu”.
I think I’m going to have to travel to Finland, break into Anni’s house and start stealing things. Like these pink scales.
Anni grabbed herself some standard paper cups, different Tilda fabric, ribbon and trim and made herself these marvellous little fairy light shades! Aren’t those fabulous? They’re so effective and they look great against the texture of that wooden headboard (I think it’s a headboard!).
The braided trim is a fabulous touch, I would add some pom-pom trim too. Just for a little contrast!
Finnish homes seem to be very open plan and some are absolutely stunning! I realise now that the wood that I thought was a headboard is actually a decorative, wooden door behind the couch. It’s a wonderful idea!
Do all homes in Finland have little garden style rooms like this? The shabby chic, cast iron style garden furniture is absolutely stunning!
Anni has a great eye for decorating and her little girl has to be one of the luckiest little girls I’ve encountered! Her little bedroom is stunning.
And look at this room! Full of fairies, fabulous furniture and lots of pink.
Anni has used vintage wallpaper perfectly inside her home and I really love how open everything is. You can see the dog looking through a little hutch space into the kitchen! Not only is this home full of vintage wallpaper but it’s full of pretty, shabby chic accessories that add a gorgeous touch of decoration.
Not only is this lady great with her decorating, she’s a fan of crafting too! This bird’s nest wreath is absolutely stunning and perfect for spring time.
