If you’re unfamiliar with Amazon Prime, it’s basically your Amazon account on steroids. Immediate shipping, exclusive perks, you name it. Since Jeff Bazos earns $231,000 every minute, you can be sure it’s totally worth it.
To get the most of Amazon Prime, you may want to do something crazy and buy enough toilet roll to fill every nook and cranny in your home. You may also want to invest in one of the services provided by Amazon Prime, as they are heavily discounted. I just wish Home Services was available here in the UK.

How To Save Money With Amazon Prime
It’s no secret that I’ve always been a savvy shopper. I was raised that way.
Approach the day with a list of items that you want to buy. Things that would be great to stock up on, like laundry detergent or paper towels. What do you use all of the time? Are there any items that would make your family life so much easier?
Brainstorm & Make A List To Save Money With Amazon Prime
Grab a pen and paper and get brainstorming. You can check Amazon for products and pricing later, but now it starts with a brainstorm!
After you’ve finished brainstorming, finalise your list. The idea is that you can take advantage of the deals when they happen, you don’t want to waste any time doubting your purchase decision.
Treat Amazon Prime Day (July) Like Black Friday
Before there was online shopping, we used to have to go into stores. Can you imagine? At the end of each season, there was always a sale, that’s when I would start my Christmas shopping.
If you’re organised with a gift list, you can save time, money and avoid queues. The worst thing about Christmas shopping has to wait in line for hours. Feeling the strange tingling in your feet and feeling like your legs are going numb. No thanks. I’ll pass.
Read Product Reviews
As with all online shopping, it’s essential to ensure that you’re buying a legit product that is fit for purpose. Copy the title of the Amazon product and paste it into google. If the product is a load of steaming crap or is a fake item, it will be one of the top results.
Use Price Comparison Sites
Many tools can help you check on products, stores AND include amazon prime.
Any item’s Amazon URL (its web address) into CamelCamelCamel, which charts Amazon price changes, to show if the ‘was’ price is realistic.
Get some alerts to any of your devices when prices drop.
Amazon prices are constantly going up and down and when the items are cheap, they tend to sell out quickly.
The beauty of a site like CamelCamelCamel is that it lets you enter the price you are willing to pay and if your Amazon products end up at that price or lower, you get notified. All you do is add the URL of the product you want.
Other sites that work similarly:
Use a browser extension called Honey to save even more money on your purchases! Honey will automagically scour the Internet for you and find every available coupon for you to use.
The extension will tell you if the Amazon item you’re looking at is the cheapest option based on shipping, tax, Prime status, and seller reputation.
Use Cashback Websites Or Credit Cards
If you don’t use Rakuten – formerly Ebates, you need to start using it immediately! I can’t take advantage of the cashback because I’m in the UK, so I use Topcashback, and NOW you can get Topcashback on Amazon Purchases – up to 10% at the time of writing!
If you’re in the UK, I highly recommend that you check out their site.
In the United States?
If you click here, you’ll be able to start earning cashback from Ebates, and they’ll even give you a $10 gift card for signing up!
The only snag is that you cannot use cashback websites and coupon codes together with Cashback Credit Cards.
You can earn up to 5% on every purchase by using a cashback credit card. For the sake of your credit score, ensure you pay it off in full to avoid interest charges! That way you can save all the money you possibly can.
Check the delivery prices on items under £20
If you’re buying items just under £20, check the cost of delivery. It could range from free to – £6.95 so it might be worth buying a cheaper item to get you over the threshold for free delivery.
Save On Subscriptions
These subscription deals that are only available from now until
Pay $0.99 to try 3-months of Kindle Unlimited. This plan is regularly priced at $29.97! Only available to first-time subscribers.
Get fresh produce delivered right to your door with Amazon Fresh. Use coupon code 30FRESH for $30 off your first order!
Get exclusive savings on groceries and household products delivered right to your door. If you’re a new customer, you will receive $10 off a $40 Pantry order along with free delivery!
Take four months of Amazon Music Unlimited for only 99 cents! It’s regularly $7.99 per month for Prime members and $9.99 for non-Prime, so this is my favourite service by far! Again, only available for new customers. I love working while I listen to upbeat music and those Spotify ads were killllling me. They ended up being so frustrating, so Amazon Music Unlimited is my saviour.
I am a huge fan of Audible, it is almost the only way I consume books now. However, I do love the feel of a book but due to my failing eyesight, focusing abilities (all related to my rare genetic disorder – read about me here) listening to books is a real saviour.
What is the ability to digest 10x more books than you’ve read in the past six months and still be able to do chores, worth to you?!
