10 Creative Colouring Books For Adults I Want Right Now
This month I was very excited to receive a free art therapy colouring book with a magazine and got the pencils out immediately! The designs are very intricate, some I like more than others but after spending a quiet afternoon and evening colouring in, without the TV, I was so relaxed.
My mind was racing like it usually is and I came to the conclusion that the focus really helped me relax! So then began my search for other colouring books which would be more suitable to my pastel, whimsical preferences.
I will show you the freebie first though! The cover is great right?!
Some of the designs were already started, as an example I can only guess.
I don’t really like the bold background colours used, I think I would prefer to add the colour myself but I think that depends on who the author is and the publishers etc.
I’m still working on the lion but I do really like it so far.
The pencils pictured are watercolour pencils:
The Colouring Books On My Wishlist:
A friend of mine purchased the mindfulness colouring book and said that people gave her a wide berth when she was colouring on the train, so if you want some peace and quiet that’s a perfect idea. :p
I love all the whimsical designs in all of these books and the mindfulness book seems to have a lot more free flowing patterns instead of intricate designs.
I’m not a huge fan of black drawings, I think if the drawings were done in a grey or lighter shade then you could use coloured pens and go over the designs, that in itself is another form of focus. I might even prefer slightly less intricate designs.
The top two books I want are Secret Garden and Bollywood (I love paisley patterns) and if I got through those two I’d be doing well right?!
Colouring For Mindfulness Series:
7. The mindfulness colouring book also available through
Urban Outfitters (where the images came from). Amazon/Wordery.
Hit any of the sharing buttons on the side of this page to share the slideshow images!
If you buy any of these from The Wordery and you are from the UK I know that you can get cashback (5% for new customers I think) and you do actually get the money (read this post if you want to know what topcashback is and peek at my account earnings).
I shop via there all the time 🙂
I’ve seen many people using coloured pens with their books, markers and some even using kids crayons.
What would you choose? What do you use?
