Let’s get started with the crafts!
Make A Pretty Planter With Polka Dots
This beautiful spring planter DIY project was created for The Craft Cafe here on Heart Handmade UK. It’s a fun little craft for kids because it involves stickers and caring for something. If you want to encourage nurturing, make a little planter specifically for that child that holds their own little plant. It’s a wonderful way to improve their mental health.
It’s possible to use stickers on these spring plants, or even decoupage fabric or napkins onto the planter. Really, it depends on the type of planter that you use. Ayda used white teacups, so decorating them wasn’t an issue. If you are using a terracotta pot, you may want to paint it white first.
Use Toilet Paper Rolls To Make Little Animals & Figures
Before We Get Started, Have You Taken The Customised Craft Furniture Quiz?
Another fabulous project from right here on this site. You can find the adorable little bugs and bunnies in this Easter Craft Ideas post! If it’s a little later in the year, you could easily make some spooky ghosts and Halloween characters using paper and paper rolls.
If like me, you are starting your apocalypse garden, you could the kiddos to make lots of those cardboard tube seedling starters.

Arts and Craft For Kids; Painting Animal Blocks
This is one of my favourite crafts ideas for kids because it’s so straightforward to do. A grown-up will be required for the image transfer process, just to be sure the kids are safe but it’s an excellent way to spend the afternoon. If you’re lucky enough to have the supplies to make plenty of arts and crafts for kids, there’s no doubt that this time in lockdown will pass quite quickly.
Kawaii Painted Face Jars
These are another one of those great craft ideas for kids because it’s simple. They may have a little trouble when it comes to recreating the Kawaii faces on the jars. So I decided to go ahead and create a little printable that you can use; Kawaii face templates. Use the popular tracing pencil transfer technique outlined here to add the Kawaii faces to the front of your painted jars.

Cardboard Sloth Craft For Kids
If you need some easy craft ideas, I don’t know any that get much easier that these adorable cardboard sloths. Use cardboard, scissors, pegs and paint to create a gorgeous sloth and baby! It’s so adorable I would love one of those to hang from a light shade but I would definitely hit my head. This is a craft I’m going to keep in the back pocket for ‘fun Aunty crafts’.
While these rocks aren’t necessarily kids crafts, painting ladybugs on rocks could be a great idea! However, if your kid loves the idea of recreating a little rock garden, then do it. It’s going to look wonderful outside your home because the flower is there all year long.
You are guaranteed not to kill this plant, which is why I love it. I’d love to get some more pots but during lock down but I don’t know if it’s possible. However, I could easily stick them in the ground.
Egg Carton Boats
These little egg carton boats are a wonderful art and craft for kids. It would be very easy to incorporate a little more art and they could design their own boat sails. Simply paint or draw on napkins or pieces of fabric to develop their own little designs. It makes the boats a lot easier to identify if they’re lucky enough to get near a pond.

Recycled Milk Carton Bird Feeder (Ideal Kids Crafts)
DIY Bird feeders are my favourite. They’re a wonderful craft idea because they’re so easy to make and you can upcycle a lot of waste products easily, thus making them ideal crafts for kids to make. You can paint the cartons, use contact paper, or even spray paint if you want to add a base layer of white for the kids to paint and decorate.
Try Weaving With Kids
Follow Barbara’s lead and try weaving with your kids. It’s the type of craft that requires concentration, thus, sweet silence. Not only that but it is a wonderful craft for mindfulness in general, helping with their mental health and creating a beautiful wall hanging at the end. There are several ways to experiment with different techniques and styles but Barbara explains it all in her post. Turns out it was an experiment that went very well and everyone loved it.
Paper Plate Dinosaur
If you have a surplus of paper plates hiding in a cupboard, your little ones could have lots of fun making dinosaurs. All you need is adhesive, paper, paint, scissors and a pen. If you’re a crafter already, you should have everything in your supply arsenal already. Grab your supplies, a cup of tea and get ready for a fun afternoon. If you’ve got the patience of a saint and a lot of paper plates, you could create a whole family of dinosaurs.
Super Hero Paper Plate Masks
If you’re running out of activities to keep them entertained, I’m sure mentioning ‘superheroes’ is enough to reignite any kids excitement. Decorating paper plates is one of those crafts to keep them quiet as they draw and paint on the plates, working those motor skills and having fun. All the kids have to do now is pick a superhero.
