Are you really struggling with procrastination? Or searching for home office decorating ideas to make your work days a bit more bright and exciting? Recently, I’ve had a similar experience. That realisation came from me wondering why I had hardly ever worked in my craft room.
Let’s jump to my top home office decorating ideas and how you can figure out your dream space.
5 Stunning Home Office Decorating Ideas To Make You Excited To Work!
MAKE A PLAN
If you’re building an office from scratch, the first thing you need to do is make a plan. This first set of tips will get you thinking about where to start.
1. Define Your Space
The first thing you need to do is decide where your office is going to be. Do you have a whole room to dedicate to it? Or maybe just a corner of a room? Whatever the case, it’s important to clearly define your office space.
2. Questions to Ask
You’re going to want to ask yourself some important questions while considering your home office.
- What furniture do I already have?
- Do you need new furniture? Maybe a new desk?
- What do you need? Do you want new wall art?
- Will people be visiting you there?
- Do you need much storage?
3. Draw Your Work Area
It’s a good idea to plan out your work area. Where is your desk going? Do you have room for shelves? If you can see everything on paper or on a screen it will be so much easier when you move things to where they need to be.
You can create plans easily enough using a free service like Planning Wiz Floor Planner, check out this video that walks you through how to use it:
CHOOSE A COLOUR PALETTE:
For my home decor, in general, I stick to a limited palette of pastels so for me this part was very easy. I decided that I wanted to bounce light everywhere, so I made everything white. Furniture, flooring and walls are all white. Doing that means that I have a blank canvas to work with depending on what style I want in my room.
Recently, I’ve added a lot more yellow to my craft room and it has made working so much more fun!
CHOOSE A THEME OR STYLE:
STORE YOUR IDEAS
Create a secret Pinterest board to store your ideas together. That way, you can see all of the thumbnails much easier and pick out any essential details that you know that you want to include in your home office. Put those details together and start finalising the details of your home office decorating project in your planner.
