Welcome to Heart Handmade UK and the Creatively Seeking Sanity Challenge FAQ’s. This challenge is a rebranded and optimised version of our Daily Creator Challenge and I’m so excited to help you become a more impactful, more purposeful crafter using psychological hacks for the sake of your mental health.

This Challenge, again, is using the bones of the Create Room Journey (in association with the folks over there).
The Create Room Journey was developed by the Create Room team and were excited for me to apply all of my training as an art therapist and transformational life coach to help you achieve the goal of daily creativity.
I was so excited to tweak their journey because they have already done 12 years of research into how crafters behave with their supplies and have developed precision engineered furniture specifically for those supplies to help them keep completely organised.
They researched topics and perfected the art of;
- Decluttering best practices
- Storage design
- Workspace design and
- Organization Methods

Where I Come In:
I have over 12 years experience with aggressive goal setting methods as a previously bed bound woman (approx 4 years) who has managed to just become housebound; in quarantine before it was cool. 😉😅
However, I’ve also launched my blog as a business, got married and bought my first house before I turned 30 and my husband and I have been thriving ever since. Every single thing I achieved, I achieved despite the fact that I have very limited energy on a daily basis.
As an example, I will be taking the entire week off and resting all day before going live at 7pm in the private Craft Cafe Facebook group each night.
In the past couple of years I’ve pivoted in my business to turn away from blogging as a business and aligning with my purpose; helping women who are struggling.
Women who are overworked, they’re stretched in 20 different directions and their sanity is suffering and I do that through Transformational Life Coaching and Art Therapy Sessions.
To compare energy to spoonfuls of sugar, I get about 5-10 spoons a day (depending on how I sleep) whereas a “normal” person could have been 400-600 a day depending on how active they are and their diet.
The difference between me and every one else?
You can live an incredibly fulfilling life as a housebound disabled person but it’s not something that comes naturally, I worked hard and had a lot of support*.
Support, which is not always available to people; I live in a country with free healthcare and prescriptions. It’s also TINY (there are fewer than 290,000 people in my city and it’s the Capitol).
So I’m giving the support. I’m sharing the skills I’ve built up over many years and sharing the psychological shortcuts that you can use to do it so much faster than I did!

Because I believe that every woman should be aware of how their brains work.
Nothing overwhelming, just the basics of how our brains actually work when it comes to processing thoughts, how we develop beliefs, how to combat perfectionism, how we develop subconscious blocks and the factors that influence our behaviours.

The Creatively Seeking Sanity Challenge
WHERE IS MY CHALLENGE EMAIL?
Oh no! Ok - to ensure you get them after you have entered your email address for the challenge, go to your emails and hit the confirm button. The majority of delivery issues happen because you didn’t confirm that you wanted to be on the list.
Oh No! There’s a chance it’s in your spam folder; we send the emails every day using fancy software, they’ll always be at the same time (6am GMT - London/Dublin) and in the evening just before we go Live in Facebook.
BEFORE REACHING OUT TO US, WE RECOMMEND THAT YOU GO THROUGH THE FOLLOWING CHECKLIST AND CONFIRM THAT YOU HAVE:
- Click on the BUTTON within the confirmation email that you get right once you’ve signed up for the VIP list.
- Why? Confirming that we’ve got the correct email address is the way that we can get permission from your email server to send to you, and it additionally verifies that we’ve got the proper email address. It’s too easy to mistype on a mobile device, thus if you haven’t found your confirmation email, check your junk or spam or it could be that you’ve simply written your email address wrong.
- If you can’t find your confirmation email, it might well either be in your junk/spam folder otherwise you might need accidentally mistyped your email and that means weren’t able to deliver to you
- If you believe that could be the case, just go ahead and sign up once more. You will be able to see your confirmation email shortly. Alternatively, if that doesn’t work, make sure to check in your junk or spam folder for the confirmation message.
- Your mail app might not save ALL of your spam messages. Search within your email app, OR look on your pc in the full spam folder.
- Finally, if the confirmation email ended up in your spam folder, simply drag it and drop it over to the inbox or look for additional options in your mail app to ‘move to inbox’.

Why? If your email doesn’t know that you’ve signed up for this challenge, then it may see the emails as spam and try to block them.
WHAT TIME DO EMAILS ARRIVE?
The rest of the challenge emails will be sent out between 6am-7am GMT.
If you don’t see your email by 6am GMT, check your junk folder, and please read above if you’re having trouble finding emails.
Keep in mind that looking for email on your mobile device may not always search all folders, so you may want to check from your desktop or laptop. If you find it in your junk, MOVE IT TO YOUR INBOX and follow the prompts to alert your email service that you want all messages from us to go to the inbox 🙂
REGISTER USING YOUR BEST EMAIL FOR THIS CHALLENGE!
Why? Due to the strong spam filters the majority of email servers have, many emails end up in junk or spam even if they aren’t junk or spam and some don’t even make it to you at all.
Want to update your email address? Use the “Update Preferences” link at the bottom of an email you’ve previously received.
GMAIL is the most likely to deliver, however, emails may go into a different folder like “Promotions.” Simply drag it to the correct location. The best place is somewhere you will notice it.
