Today I have an insanely simple DIY project for you to try! If you want to jazz up your front door then this is hands down, the best DIY project for you to try.
Not only that, but I share my favourite Stencil Store and some of their fantastic Scandi style Stencil designs!
After writing the post 5 Stunning Floors That Will Knock Your Socks Off, I became obsessed with the idea of using stencils around my home.
Of course, I went to find my favourite and decided upon this half-moon mandala style stencil to create a doily effect. I plan on using it in about 4 more locations in my house. So you can keep an eye out for those.
The Best Stencil Store On Etsy (IMHO*):
I am crazy about stencils now! I can’t wait to use this half doily all over my house. It would even look amazing on the wall surrounding a door frame.
Oh yeah.. the store.
They Have The Best Stencil Designs and Patterns:
This is the half doily as it looks on a wall. It looks rather marvelous and it is absolutely huge!
A snippet of the stencil I used to transform the glass on my back door. See: How To Transform A Glass Door Using A Stencil
I’m slowly but surely decorating my new house and this stencilled door mat was the perfect project for my deck at the back door.
For Your DIY Door Mat You Will Need:
- Spray Paint(I used metallic gold to add shimmer and white)
- Coir Door Mat
- Stencil of choice
- A large Cardboard box or somewhere to spray paint safely
- Small black furry assistant name Poopers (yes that’s her name)
- Cath Kidston Slippers
Please ignore the chalk paint and roller! I decided to use spray paint in the end 🙂
